Gaia Morte Artworks

Laura began with carefully pinned and framed butterflies, and the collection has grown to include insect, bone and full mount displays, domes and jewellery. Pieces have the feel of an old museum collection. Laura works with breeders from around the world as well as raising insects at home, to help make sure specimens are ethically and sustainably sourced. Recent pieces have included carpenter bees, flying geckos and death’s head hawkmoths.

Oddities By Maggot

Kya, also known as Maggot, draws on Victorian curiosity cabinets and museum specimen displays to create relics from bones, natural finds and forgotten objects. Her shelf also carries spell jars, spell kits and herbal pieces, so it is one to linger over.

Dead Dolls Society

Not everything odd here came from nature. Sara’s reworked dolls sit alongside framed metal detecting finds and preserved dandelion seed pieces, each with its own strange charm.

Are the specimens ethically sourced?

Gaia Morte Artworks works with breeders around the world and raises insects at home to help ensure specimens are ethically and sustainably sourced. You are welcome to ask any of our makers about their materials.
