Handmade and Alternative Jewellery in Weston-super-Mare
You will not find rows of identical necklaces here. Each jeweller at The Curious Hideaway has their own style, from fine silver to chainmaille built with medieval armour techniques, and most of what you see was made by the person whose name is on the shelf.
Established in 2012 by Natalie Jones, a trained textiles fashion designer whose work has featured in Vogue and Red magazines. The range is silver and stainless steel jewellery for men and women, with toe rings, ear cuffs, anklets and hair swords among the more unusual finds. Jakki was given a jewellery-making kit while recovering from a difficult time, and it became a passion that led to market stalls, craft fairs and six years with a shop in Glastonbury. Her necklaces, bracelets and earrings are each made thoughtfully rather than mass-produced. She takes custom orders and also offers minor jewellery repairs. Mac uses techniques rooted in traditional medieval armour making to turn chainmaille into modern, edgy pieces. If you want jewellery with a story behind it, this is the shelf. Natural stone bracelets and necklaces in plenty of designs, and a good place to look for a gift. Amy will make custom pieces too. For something properly unusual, Sara’s jewellery includes preserved dandelion seed pieces.Lily Star Zorric
